Contest Rules

To provide fair and equal chance of winning to all South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers’ readers, the following are the Official Rules for all Contests:

Entering Contests
Entrants must submit entries using the correct contest entry form and must provide any other specific information requested in the contest announcement. To be eligible, entries must be completed and received on or by the closing date of the contest drawing. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries shall become the property of South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers. We are not responsible for lost, misdirected or delayed entries. Entries received by telephone, fax, courier or personal delivery will not be accepted. Only one entry per address will be considered.

Choosing & Contacting Winners
All winners must be 18 years of age or older, unless otherwise stated and/or posted. Identification must be provided upon request. All winners will be chosen at random. They will be contacted by telephone at the number provided on the contest entry form.

Claiming Of Prizes
Claiming of prizes requires a response to South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers from the potential winner within twenty-four (24) hours of being notified. Failure to respond will be considered an automatic forfeiture of the prize. South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers is not required to award elsewhere any prizes forfeited by the chosen winner(s).

Prizes are not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded. Winners may not request substitutions of prize winnings. Approximate value of prizes may vary. Winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees, and all such additional costs that may be incurred.

If the specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers may substitute a prize of equal value. Management, employees and families of South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers are prohibited from winning any prizes awarded by the publication.

By claiming the prize, the winner authorizes the use, without additional compensation, of his/her name and municipality of residence for promotion and/or advertising purposes in any manner and in any medium (including, without limitation, newspapers, flyers and distribution over the internet) which South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers may deem appropriate.

Winners are requested to pick up their prize in person at the main office of the newspaper, located at 565 Broadhollow Rd. Ste 3, in Farmingdale, and to sign a letter of release giving permission to South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers to publish their name in an upcoming issue of the publication.

In the event that a winner is unable to personally appear to claim his/her prize, the winner gives permission to South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers to send the prize via U.S. Postal Service, using the Certified, Return Receipt Requested classification. Upon receipt of the signed “green” receipt postcard, South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers will assume that permission is granted to publish their name as a winner of said contest in an upcoming issue of the publication. Each prizewinner must supply South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers with his/her legal name, mailing address and a contact telephone number.

If the signed postcard is not received by South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers within seven (7) business days, it will be assumed that the winner is not in receipt of the prize, and the prize has been lost; therefore, their name will not be announced in an upcoming issue of the publication. By not personally claiming their prize at the office of South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers, the winner forfeits their rights to any replacement prize.

Liability
Neither South Bay’s Neighbor / Neighbor Newspapers, their sponsors, nor their employees may be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of a prize once possession has been taken of the product by the winner.
